BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio – A fire Sunday afternoon in Belmont County burned five acres of private property, according to Cumberland Trail Fire District Assistant Chief Daniel Grady.

Grady said the fire was in the woodline of a property along State Route 149 between Glencoe and Stewartsville.

Grady said the fire’s origin is unknown. There was an oil well away in the distance from the fire, he said.

No one was injured.

The fire took nearly 2.5 hours to extinguish, Grady said.

Fire departments that responded were OR & W, Lafferty, Bethesda, Barnesville, and Spirit of 76.
