Vivek Ramaswamy leaves Trump’s government efficiency commission, may announce run for Ohio’s governor

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Entrepreneur and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is expected to announce his bid for Ohio’s 2026 gubernatorial race next week, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

President Trump tasked Ramaswamy and billionaire Elon Musk to run the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) but Ramaswamy stepped down from his role there and alluded to his plans in Ohio on X on Monday.

It was my honor to help support the creation of DOGE. I’m confident that Elon & team will succeed in streamlining government. I’ll have more to say very soon about my future plans in Ohio. Most importantly, we’re all-in to help President Trump make America great again!
