Local Ohio mayor to be arraigned for charges related to alleged courthouse threat

BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio – Holloway, Ohio Mayor Joseph Schaeffer may be arraigned next week following his arrest on Thursday for allegedly threatening to blow up the Belmont County Courthouse.

Belmont County Prosecutor Kevin Flanagan tells River News Network that Schaeffer was charged with one misdemeanor count of inducing panic and one misdemeanor count of aggravated menacing. Flanagan says both charges carry a potential sentence of up to 6 months in jail.
