Local police have a theory on who vandalized this local hospital

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio – The St. Clairsville Police Department continues to investigate vandalism at the new Trinity Hospital building which is still under construction at 280 West Main Street.

Police responded to the site early Monday morning and found several areas throughout the construction site that were damaged, apparently with a sledgehammer, according to the police report.

Police found sledgehammer holes in walls on the building’s first floor. The second floor also had what appeared to be sledgehammer holes in drywall, bathroom tiles and showers. Copper lines that were already placed and connected were also smashed with a sledgehammer.

Police say the suspect likely entered the building through an opening covered with plastic and duct tape.

No items were stolen.

Police suspect juveniles may have been involved.

Please contact the St. Clairsville Police Department with any information at 740-695-0123.
