BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio – Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik today announced the approval of 10 projects that will create 1,063 new jobs statewide, including the Tecnocap project in Belmont County.
Tecnocap LLC, village of Bellaire (Belmont County), expects to create 29 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $1.3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location in Bellaire.
Tecnocap is a metal packaging manufacturer specializing in metal closures for glass jars and plastic containers. The proposed project includes purchasing and renovating a vacant building to consolidate its current operations from surrounding states into a single facility in Ohio. TCA approved a 1.046 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
According to its website, Tecnocap has production sites in Italy, the Czech Republic and Glen Dale, West Virginia.
The Job Creation Tax Credit is a performance-based credit. The actual value of the credits are based on the jobs that are ultimately created and the new payroll that’s generated, which will be subject to state verification.
