BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio – Local officials are urging employees displaced by the sudden closing of East Ohio Regional Hospital (EORH) on Thursday to attend a meeting sponsored by the Belmont County Department of Job and Family Services.
Jeff Felton, Director of Belmont County DJFS, tells River News Network that the agency is holding the meeting on Thursday, April 3 at 10 a.m. at the Martins Ferry Recreation Center.
Former EORH workers will have the chance to learn about unemployment compensation and their eligibility for public assistance programs like Medicaid, SNAP and cash assistance. Job search information may also be provided.
Felton is working to secure a state unemployment specialist to speak to former EORH staff.
