BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio – Prosecutor Kevin Flanagan announced Wednesday that Dalton Ray of Oklahoma was convicted of Obstructing Justice following a jury trial on Tuesday, June 3, according to Lede News.

The conviction stems from Ray’s false statements to investigators during a double homicide investigation involving the deaths of Angela and Tom Strussion.

According to Flanagan, detectives from Belmont County, Ohio traveled to Oklahoma in July 2024 to interview Ray as part of their investigation. During that initial interview, Ray allegedly provided misleading information regarding his knowledge of the Strussions’ deaths. Detectives later determined that the information he gave was untruthful.

Flanagan said that a second interview was conducted after the detectives returned to Oklahoma. During this follow-up meeting, Ray again made false statements. However, investigators confronted him with evidence contradicting his claims, further confirming that he had attempted to obstruct the investigation.

Sentencing for Ray is scheduled for June 24, 2025, before Judge Chris Berhalter.
