BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio –
The Belmont County Board of Commissioners met Wednesday, June 11, 2025, for their regular meeting at the Belmont County Courthouse.
Among the major financial actions was the approval of two fund transfers: $969,657.74 for hospitalization chargebacks for May and June 2025, and $593,688.50 for the Y-95 Employer’s Share PERS/Holding Account chargebacks for May.
Several travel requests were approved, including one commissioner traveling to Cadiz on June 17, and Department of Job and Family Services staff traveling to Marietta and New Concord later in the month.
In personnel actions, the commissioners approved the hire of David Monge as Assistant Dog Warden, effective June 16, 2025.
The board approved a motion indicating they do not request a hearing regarding a stock transfer request for West Texas Roadhouse in Richland Township. A three-year Comcast Business Service Order for the Public Defenders’ Office was approved, along with a Memorandum of Agreements for Deposit of Public Funds with Huntington National Bank for up to $10 million.
Several project-related motions passed, including:
- Two change orders from Grae-Con Construction totaling $16,614.94 for work on the Records Building and Health Department project.
- A $3,000 modification for courthouse plaza design services from Mannik Smith Group.
- Two pay requests from Ohio-West Virginia Excavating Co. totaling $155,480 for ongoing sewer projects in Blaine Hill and West End.
- A $201,931 proposal from Eagon & Associates for hydrogeologic consulting services for a potential new water well site.
The board announced it is currently accepting applications for vacancies on the Workforce Development Board Area 16 (two-year term) and the Mental Health Recovery Board (four-year term). Applications are due by June 20, 2025.
Due to a scheduling conflict, the commissioners’ next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Belmont County Courthouse instead of the usual Wednesday session.
