New Fall Flight Routes Lined Up Around Big Ohio State Games

COLUMBUS, OH – Ohio State football fans flying in or out of John Glenn Columbus International Airport this season will have more options than usual, thanks to game day–driven flights from major airlines.

Airport officials say American, Delta, Southwest, and United are adding extra service around some of the most anticipated matchups on the Buckeyes’ 2025 schedule. The special routes, outlined in the airport’s FlyColumbus newsletter, are designed to get fans to their destinations just in time for kickoff — and back home after the final whistle.

Highlighted Games and Flights

Texas at Ohio State – Aug. 30
Flights arrive in Columbus on Aug. 29 and depart Aug. 31.

  • American Airlines: Additional service from Austin (AUS) and Dallas (DFW), with a Sept. 1 return from Dallas.
  • Delta Air Lines: Added flights from Austin (AUS) and San Antonio (SAT).
  • Southwest Airlines: Six extra flights from Austin (AUS), Dallas (DAL), and Houston (HOU).

Ohio State at Washington – Sept. 27
Flights depart Columbus Sept. 25–26 and return Sept. 28.

  • Southwest, American, Delta, United: Added service from CMH to Seattle (SEA).
  • Alaska Airlines: Regular daily nonstop service also available.

Ohio State at Wisconsin – Oct. 18
Flights depart Oct. 17 and return Oct. 19.

  • American and United: CMH to Madison (MSN).

Penn State at Ohio State – Nov. 1
Flights arrive in Columbus Oct. 31 and depart Nov. 2.

Whether it’s to pack the ’Shoe for a home showdown or follow the Buckeyes on the road, these tailored flight schedules could be the easiest way for fans to stay in the game. The only question is — will you be boarding one of them?
