ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio – Trinity Health System announced the grand opening of its brand-new location, the St. Clairsville Neighborhood Hospital today, Monday, Aug. 18. The doors opened at 8 a.m.
St. Clairsville Neighborhood Hospital is a 20,000-square-foot acute-care hospital designed to bring healing and hope to the region. This two-story facility will offer 10 emergency treatment rooms—two equipped for trauma care—and three fast-track rooms to support patients with lower-acuity needs.
Six inpatient rooms, including one equipped to provide intensive care, and two operating rooms will be available to serve individuals requiring extended or surgical care. This new location will also offer a range of supportive services to care for the whole person, including laboratory testing, advanced imaging, and specialized spaces for patients with unique needs. These specialized spaces include a room designed with bariatric patients in mind, and another room set aside for behavioral health care within the emergency department.
These specialized spaces reflect CommonSpirit Health’s deep commitment to dignity, equity, and personalized care.
“For many in the St. Clairsville area, access to timely emergency services has been a challenge, often requiring travel across the Ohio River,” Dwayne Richardson, president of Twin City Medical Center and Regional Operations, said. “By establishing this facility along National Road, we are working to bridge that gap—bringing high-quality, life-saving care close to home.”
“The need for this hospital location has become even more urgent following the closure of East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry,” Laurie Labishak, Market Director, Trinity Health System, said. “While nearby hospitals in Wheeling and Barnesville continue to provide vital support, the addition of this new facility will expand capacity and provide local residents with another trusted place to turn in times of need.”
To enhance care delivery, the hospital will also feature a helicopter landing zone for emergency air transport and utilize telehealth robotics throughout the facility—ensuring that expertise, connection, and compassionate care are always within reach.
