Center Township, Ohio — The St. Clairsville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred at 2:22 a.m. Sunday in Monroe County.
The crash happened at approximately on Township Road 350 in Center Township. According to investigators, a 2004 Ford Escape operated by Rylee N. Harrigan, 18, of Graysville, Ohio, was traveling southbound when it went off the right side of the roadway, over an embankment, and struck a tree.
Harrigan was transported by Antioch EMS to Wetzel County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two passengers were also in the vehicle. Scott A. Frontz, 32, of Woodsfield, who was seated in the rear, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and refused treatment at the scene. The front passenger, Kregg A. Longwell, 33, of Woodsfield, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle was towed from the scene by Stephens Towing. The Monroe County Coroner responded, and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Antioch Fire/EMS assisted.
Troopers say alcohol and/or drug impairment is suspected as a contributing factor. The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
