GUERNSEY COUNTY, Ohio — Belmont County Hoof and Paw is assisting the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office in a serious animal cruelty case involving more than 20 horses living in deplorable conditions.

The owners of the horses have surrendered seven animals so far, allowing authorities and animal welfare groups to begin providing much-needed care. Belmont County Hoof and Paw is now seeking donations and volunteers to help with veterinary treatment and foster care for the rescued horses.

Those interested in supporting the effort can contribute funds or time to help ensure the animals receive proper care and a chance at recovery.
