COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio – The future of the Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center, located inside the Lou Holtz Hall of Fame, is uncertain as the institution faces mounting financial challenges.
The museum, which opened 25 years ago with a visit from Lou Holtz and television personality Regis Philbin, has long served as a regional landmark. However, officials say the cancellation of its annual induction ceremony during the COVID-19 pandemic dealt a severe financial blow, leaving the center in distress.
According to museum leadership, the facility now has until December 10 to raise the funds necessary to remain open. Without new financial support, the museum may be forced to shut its doors.
The Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center highlights the history, culture, and achievements of the region, while also honoring the legacy of Holtz, a celebrated East Liverpool native and Hall of Fame college football coach.
Community members and supporters are being called upon to help preserve the museum’s mission before time runs out.
