MARTINS FERRY, Ohio – Sgt. Vincent West was officially sworn in as the City of Martins Ferry’s new police chief at Tuesday night’s city council meeting.
West had been serving as interim chief since Oct. 3, following the retirement of longtime Police Chief Jerry Murphy. Mayor John Davies administered the oath of office during the meeting.
West joined the Martins Ferry Police Department in 2005 as a part-time officer, becoming full-time in 2013 and earning the rank of sergeant in 2023.
