BROOKE COUNTY, W.Va. – Brooke County Schools is making another attempt to sell the former Wellsburg Middle School property.
A public auction for the building is scheduled for 10 a.m. today, with a minimum bid set at $225,000.
The roughly 71,000-square-foot property has been on the market before, but previous efforts to sell it have been unsuccessful. District officials hope this auction will attract a buyer and help the school system repurpose or generate revenue from the vacant site.
