BELLAIRE, Ohio – The Great Stone Viaduct Society in Bellaire has been honored by the EPA with the Region 5 Award for Outstanding Contributions in Brownfields Development.

The group allegedly cleaned up the contaminated former B&O Railroad yard beneath the historic viaduct, transforming it into a reportedly safe public space with a walkway, observation deck, and walking path.

The group plans for a park and museum. There is no word on funding for any of the projects commissioned by the Great Stone Viaduct Society.
