Ohio Voters Head to the Polls Today

0

Ohio voters are casting their ballots today in the 2025 general election, with municipal races taking center stage across the Ohio Valley. There are no statewide or federal candidates on the ballot this year, putting the focus squarely on city, village, and township leadership contests.

Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. statewide. Don’t forget to bring a valid, official photo ID.

Election officials remind voters that some polling locations have changed, and registered voters should have received a postcard this summer with updated location details. If you’re unsure where to vote, visit VoteOhio.gov to confirm your polling place.

The state’s website also allows friends and family to check locations — without revealing individual voting records — by geolocating an address to its correct polling place.

In Jefferson County, Steubenville voters will elect a new mayor to replace Jerry Barilla, who is retiring after eight years in office.

In Belmont County, four candidates are competing for three at-large seats on Martins Ferry City Council. Shadyside voters will choose between Nick Ferrelli and Mike Meintel for mayor and will also select candidates for six Village Council seats. The three candidates vying for two positions as Richland Township trustees in Belmont County are newcomer Jay Stephens and incumbents Jim DeNoble and Rick Ferrell.
