Boil Advisory Issued After Emergency Water Line Break in Belmont County

BELMONT COUNTY — An emergency water line break has forced Belmont County Water to shut off service to several neighborhoods, prompting a 48-hour boil advisory once water and system pressure are restored.

Officials say the outage affects residents on Merrits Row, Beth Drive, Ann Drive, and Nelan Road, as well as Bel-Capri Apartments, Bel-Clair Apartments, and the Country Club Retirement Center.

Crews are working to repair the break, though no estimated restoration time has been announced. After water service resumes, all affected customers will be required to boil tap water for at least one minute before drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth for a full 48 hours.

Residents are encouraged to monitor alerts from Belmont County Water for updates on restoration and when the advisory is lifted.
