COLUMBUS, Ohio — Nathan Brooks, convicted in 1996 of the brutal killings of his parents when he was a teenager, has been denied parole and will remain in prison.
Brooks appeared before the Ohio Parole Board as part of a statutory requirement that eligible individuals convicted as juveniles receive a parole hearing after 30 years of incarceration. Following the review, the board rejected his request for release.
According to state records, Brooks’s next official parole eligibility date is August 1, 2035.
He continues to serve his sentence for the murders, a case that shocked the Ohio Valley nearly three decades ago.
