MINGO JUNCTION, Ohio — Firefighters responded Wednesday to a deadly blaze that tore through a garage apartment on Montrose Avenue, claiming one life.
The fire broke out at 415 Montrose Avenue, and arriving crews found the structure already heavily engulfed in flames. Firefighters were unable to reach the person inside before the roof collapsed, preventing rescue efforts.
Four departments assisted in bringing the fire under control.
As of early Thursday morning, officials had not yet released the name of the victim. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
