MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. — Marshall County’s Board of Education has placed the possible suspension of two school administrators on the agenda for its meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight at the John Marshall High School commons.
The administrators are McNinch Primary School Principal Jane Duffy and Marshall County Schools Special Programs Director Erin Cuffaro. Both are expected to respond to charges connected to the alleged attempted strangulation of a six-year-old autistic student.
Former Special Education teacher Kiersten Moses, who faces criminal charges after allegedly choking a 6-year-old autistic McNinch Primary School student, previously resigned, and the Board of Education later accepted that resignation.
Superintendent Shelby Haines said last week that an independent agency is currently reviewing the district’s Special Programs Department.
The matter is part of an ongoing case that has drawn significant public attention. The board is expected to consider the suspensions during the meeting, though no final action has been announced ahead of the discussion.
