STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — Trinity Health System has announced a major investment in diagnostic care with the installation of a new high-field Open MRI system at its Wintersville location.
The new Fuji Oasis Velocity is the first true high-field Open MRI available in the Tri-State area, offering improved comfort and expanded access for patients who may struggle with traditional MRI machines.
Unlike narrow-bore MRIs, the open design reduces anxiety and claustrophobia and can accommodate pediatric and bariatric patients weighing up to 600 pounds. Trinity Health officials say the system removes barriers that can delay testing or require sedation.
Despite its open structure, the Fuji Oasis Velocity delivers high-level imaging performance with a powerful 1.2 Tesla magnet. The system provides detailed images needed for accurate diagnoses in areas such as neurology and orthopedics, supporting more precise treatment planning.
Hospital officials say the new MRI also boosts efficiency by increasing imaging capacity, helping reduce wait times for patients while maintaining high-quality diagnostic standards.
