Ohio’s Department of Cannabis Control has released its 2025 sales figures for legal marijuana, showing strong demand in the first full year of recreational sales.
According to the agency, recreational marijuana sales topped $836 million statewide in 2025, the first complete year since adult-use marijuana became legal. Medical marijuana sales also remained significant, generating more than $233 million during the year.
State officials say the combined sales reflect continued growth in Ohio’s regulated cannabis market, driven by expanded access, licensed dispensaries, and consumer demand. Tax revenue from recreational sales is expected to support state and local programs outlined under Ohio law.
