HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. — A 19-year-old man has been charged following an investigation by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office that began last month.
According to the sheriff’s department, Caleb D. Blake, 19, was charged on Jan. 18, 2026, with one count of second-degree sexual assault and one count of battery.
Authorities say the investigation began in early December 2025 after the incident was reported to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. After learning of the investigation, Blake allegedly fled the area.
Blake was later located and arrested in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, by the Pottsville Police Department. He was held at the Schuylkill County Prison before being extradited back to West Virginia by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
Blake is currently housed at the Northern Regional Jail.
