STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — The Jefferson County Humane Society now has 29 chihuahuas and three cats in its care following a raid on a Steubenville home.
Officers say the animals were living in unsanitary conditions, with urine and feces left uncleaned by the owner. Authorities expect to file charges related to animal neglect.
The rescue came after a tip alerted officials to the situation, prompting the humane society and law enforcement to remove the pets for their safety and well-being.
