MARTINS FERRY, Ohio — Martins Ferry police are asking for the public’s help after vandals and squatters were discovered inside the former East Ohio Regional Hospital building.
Officers say recent patrols of the property revealed individuals had broken into the vacant facility, stealing copper and other metals. Police also reported finding evidence that squatters had been staying inside the building.
Authorities are urging residents to report any suspicious activity around the property to help keep the area secure.
Future plans for the former hospital remain uncertain as bankruptcy proceedings involving the building continue to move through the courts.
