Bob Evans Restaurants Sold to New Owner

OHIO — Ohio-based Bob Evans Restaurants has been sold to New York City-based equity firm 4 x 4 Capital.

The acquisition transfers ownership of the longtime family-style restaurant chain from Golden Gate Capital. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Company officials say the current management team will remain in place as the new owner focuses on long-term growth and operations.

Bob Evans Restaurants is headquartered in New Albany and operates more than 400 locations across 18 states, employing over 15,000 workers. The company traces its roots to a 12-stool diner opened in 1948 by founder Bob Evans in Gallipolis.
