ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s office announced last week that charges have been filed against a Muskingum County Children’s Services worker, Ashley Steele, 37, of Senecaville in Guernsey County for allegedly falsifying legal documentation in relation to services provided through children’s services as well as personal criminal history legal documents pertaining to her hire with the agency.
Children’s Services immediately terminated Ashley Steele and contacted law enforcement.
The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says it takes these offenses very seriously as the crimes Steele committed violate a duty of trust to the child and the community.
Eleven charges of Tampering with Records, all felonies of the third-degree, allege that Steele tampered with government records. Ten of the counts involve Steele allegedly falsifying information in reports she made as a caseworker for Muskingum County Children’s Services. The eleventh count involves Steele allegedly providing a document that falsely stated she had a prior conviction sealed.
Steele is expected to appear in court to answer the charges. Stay with River News online and on Facebook for updates.
