Ohio Valley Gas Prices Surge Amid Middle East Tensions

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. — Gasoline prices in the Ohio Valley area jumped sharply from Tuesday to Wednesday, with several stations in Moundsville raising prices by as much as 35 cents per gallon.

Motorists are feeling the impact as local pumps reflect one of the steepest day-to-day increases in recent weeks.

The ongoing conflict involving Iran and tensions in the Middle East are contributing to recent spikes in U.S. gasoline prices. Geopolitical instability, including military action and threats to key supply routes like the Strait of Hormuz, has pushed global crude oil prices higher, which in turn drives up retail gasoline costs.

While local factors and individual station pricing can affect day-to-day changes, the broader increase seen across U.S. markets reflects concerns about disrupted oil supplies and heightened volatility in the global energy market.
