MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. — Four workers were injured in an industrial accident Thursday afternoon at the Cameron Portal of the Marshall County Mine.
According to Marshall County 9-1-1, the call came in around 3:15 p.m. Emergency crews arriving at the scene found four workers suffering from chemical burns ranging from first-degree to severe second-degree.
Weather conditions prevented medical helicopters from flying, so Marshall County EMS transported three of the injured workers to Reynolds Memorial Hospital and one to Wheeling Hospital.
As of early Friday morning, officials had not released additional details about the accident or the identities of those injured.
