WHEELING, W.Va. — The long-awaited groundbreaking for the St. Joseph Regional Cancer Center took place Tuesday at the former Ohio Valley Medical Center site, marking a major milestone for healthcare development in the city.
Officials with WVU Medicine and city leaders said the $120 million project represents the largest investment in Wheeling in recent memory.
The new facility will consolidate cancer services currently provided at Wheeling Hospital and Reynolds Memorial Hospital, bringing them together under one regional center.
Leaders say the project is expected to enhance access to cancer care across the region while modernizing treatment options for patients.
