BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio — The Kroger Company says it has corrected a donation mix-up involving two local animal organizations.
A $12,000 presentation check originally made out to the Belmont County Animal Shelter was actually intended for the Belmont County Animal Rescue.
Kroger officials said they apologized for the error and took additional steps to address the situation, including donating $2,500 to the Belmont County Animal Shelter.
The company said the correction ensures the intended recipient receives the original donation while also supporting the shelter following the mistake.
