ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio — The Belmont County Board of Commissioners took a formal stand for the county’s youngest residents during their Wednesday morning meeting, officially proclaiming April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The proclamation is part of a national effort to raise awareness about the signs of neglect and abuse while highlighting the community resources available to support families in crisis.
Belmont County Department of Job and Family Services (DJFS) Director Jeff Felton, along with Administrator Christine Parker and several staff members, stood before the board as the motion was unanimously adopted. The presence of the DJFS leadership underscored the critical role the agency plays in investigating reports and providing protective services.
