ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio — St. Clairsville City Council has approved updates to an ordinance governing signage in the city’s historic downtown district.
At its most recent meeting, council members voted to revise the rules after some business owners said the previous ordinance was too restrictive and in need of change.
The updated measure now permits hanging signs in the downtown area, offering businesses more flexibility in how they display their storefronts.
As part of the changes, council also voted to dissolve the St. Clairsville Architecture Review Board and replace it with a newly created Downtown District Review Board.
