Grow Ohio Valley to Use USDA Grant to Expand Farm-to-School Program in Ohio County Schools

0

OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. – Grow Ohio Valley will use a $250,000 U.S. Department of Agriculture grant awarded through Ohio County Schools to provide locally grown fruits and vegetables for school meals.

The organization says the funding will help strengthen its farm-to-school efforts by connecting local agriculture with school nutrition programs. As part of the initiative, participating farmers will also be invited into classrooms to educate students about farming, food production, and the importance of local agriculture.
