STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — Drivers in Steubenville should prepare for traffic impacts beginning Monday, June 1, as pavement repair work gets underway on the John Scott Connector Project.
According to the City of Steubenville Engineering Department, the project will involve the removal and replacement of deteriorated pavement along the connector route.
Motorists can expect lane closures, reduced speeds through construction zones, and possible delays during peak travel times while work is being completed.
City officials also announced traffic restrictions near Jim Wood Park during the project. The park exit will be restricted to right turns only toward Sunset Boulevard, and left turns exiting the park will not be permitted throughout construction.
The contract for the project was awarded to The James White Construction Company of Weirton, West Virginia. Officials said funding for the work is being provided through city income tax revenue and Ohio Public Works Commission funds.
Drivers are urged to use caution, reduce speed, and remain alert for workers and changing traffic patterns in the area.
RIVER NEWS will continue providing updates on road conditions and traffic impacts throughout the Ohio Valley.
