BELLAIRE, Ohio — Emergency crews responded to a vehicle accident involving a semi-truck Wednesday morning that resulted in downed utility poles, fallen power lines, and widespread power outages in parts of Bellaire.

According to reports from the scene, multiple utility poles were damaged, causing power lines to fall across several roadways, including ramps connected to State Route 7.

Officials reported that the Route 7 southbound on-ramp and the Route 7 northbound off-ramp were affected by downed lines as crews worked to secure the area.

American Electric Power (AEP) crews responded to the scene and began assessing the damage and restoring service.

The power outage also impacted the Bellaire Healthcare Center, which was reported to be without electricity as of late Wednesday morning.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use caution while utility crews continue repairs. Additional information on road closures and power restoration efforts is expected as the situation develops.
