CAMBRIDGE, Ohio — Cambridge City Schools has expanded its administrative team ahead of the upcoming school year by creating two new assistant principal positions and appointing experienced educators to fill the roles.

The Cambridge Board of Education recently approved the transition of dean of students positions at Cambridge Intermediate School and Cambridge Primary School into assistant principal roles as part of the district’s efforts to strengthen academic leadership.

Superintendent Dan Coffman said the new positions will allow building administrators to take on greater responsibilities related to curriculum, instruction, and teacher evaluations while supporting continued student achievement.

Nicole Earley has been selected as assistant principal at Cambridge Intermediate School. Earley previously served as the building’s dean of students and will continue working closely with students, staff, and families in her new role.

School officials praised Earley’s dedication to student success and her efforts to help create a positive learning environment throughout the school community.

At Cambridge Primary School, Matt Green has been named assistant principal. Green brings seven years of experience teaching math and science at Cambridge Middle School and has been recognized for his leadership and commitment to education.

Primary School Principal Kurt Ware said Green’s background in the classroom and his ability to connect with students made him a strong candidate for the position.

Green said leaving the classroom will be difficult because of the relationships he has built with students over the years, but he is excited for the opportunity to support student success in a new capacity.

District leaders say both appointments are part of an ongoing effort to improve educational outcomes and provide additional support for teachers and students.

Earley and Green will officially begin their new duties at the start of the 2026-27 school year.
