MONROE COUNTY, Ohio — Two people were arrested on drug-related charges following separate traffic stops conducted by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit.
The first stop occurred Friday, July 23, on State Route 800 in Malaga Township. Deputies identified the driver as 60-year-old Keith A. Johnson of Bridgeport and discovered he was wanted on an active Monroe County arrest warrant.
After Johnson was taken into custody, deputies reportedly found items inside the vehicle associated with drug use. He was transported to the Monroe County Jail, where he remains in custody on the outstanding warrant and additional drug-related charges.
Later that day, deputies stopped a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Kevin M. Ramsey of Barnesville for registration and equipment violations.
With assistance from K9 Jade, deputies searched the vehicle and reportedly recovered methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.
Ramsey was also taken to the Monroe County Jail, where he is being held on charges of possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both investigations remain under the jurisdiction of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
