MARTINS FERRY, Ohio — Firefighters responded to Union Street on Wednesday morning following a report of a possible fire in a building’s basement.
Initial emergency dispatch reports indicated the call was received at approximately 8:37 a.m. Responders determined the problem involved the building’s main electrical breaker box.
The electrical system was turned off, and the tenant was advised to contact the property owner. AEP Ohio was also contacted to disconnect the electric meter.
No additional information about the incident was immediately available.
