JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio — The Jefferson County General Health District is bringing flu vaccines directly into communities this fall, with a series of mobile and drive-through clinics scheduled across the county.
The health district’s 2026 flu vaccine outreach begins Thursday, Sept. 24, with a clinic in Amsterdam. Additional clinics and vaccination opportunities are scheduled through the end of October in Toronto, at Buckeye Local and Edison Local high schools, YSU Steubenville and community health events.
The schedule includes:
- Sept. 24, noon–2 p.m. — Amsterdam, 360 N. Main St., at the former Dollar Tree/Family Dollar
- Oct. 5 and Oct. 26, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. — Toronto office, closed for lunch from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
- Oct. 7, 4–6 p.m. — Buckeye Local High School
- Oct. 8, 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. — Fall Senior Expo at St. Florian Hall
- Oct. 8, 2–5 p.m. — YSU Steubenville, former truck school lot with entrance from John Scott Highway
- Oct. 9, 9 a.m.–noon — YSU Steubenville at the same location
- Oct. 14, 4–6 p.m. — Edison Local High School
- Oct. 28, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. — Ohio Valley Health Center Health Fair
The health district is placing additional emphasis on flu vaccination this season after estimates showed fewer than half of Ohio adults received a flu vaccine during the 2025-26 flu season.
Flu vaccines for the 2026-27 season are trivalent, meaning they are designed to protect against three influenza viruses: two influenza A viruses and one influenza B virus. Vaccination is available for people 6 months of age and older.
