BELLAIRE, Ohio — Bellaire Public Library is inviting the community to celebrate Dolly Parton with an evening combining music, family activities and a focus on childhood literacy.
The library will host its free Pre-Pre Dolly Day Celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is open to all ages, and registration is not required.
Activities planned throughout the evening include Dolly Parton karaoke, Name That Dolly Tune, trivia, Dolly Bingo, a themed photo booth, games and prizes. Guests can also try a “Cupa Cupa Cupa” snack inspired by one of Parton’s recipes.
Children ages 3 to 6 will have a special activity beginning at 5:30 p.m. featuring a storytime and craft centered around “Coat of Many Colors,” Parton’s children’s book based on her well-known song.
The celebration will also highlight Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides enrolled children with a free, age-appropriate book mailed to their homes each month from birth through age 5.
Families attending the event can learn more about the program, get information about enrolling eligible children and find out how the Imagination Library is supported in Belmont County.
The library said the celebration is designed to bring together Parton’s entertainment legacy and her work promoting childhood literacy while providing a fun evening for local families.
Bellaire Public Library is located at 330 32nd Street in Bellaire. The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23.
