BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio — Union Local School District has begun work on a refurbishment project aimed at improving the school’s softball field and investing in the future of the Jets softball program.
The project is being funded entirely through fundraising and donations, making the improvements a community-supported effort rather than a district-funded project.
Union Local officials announced that work on the field officially began this week following significant planning and preparation. The district thanked its athletic director along with the individuals, families and community supporters who have contributed their time, resources and financial support to make the project possible.
The refurbishment represents a new chapter for Union Local softball, with the improvements intended to provide an upgraded facility for current players as well as future generations of Jets student-athletes.
School officials said the project reflects the continued support surrounding Union Local athletics and expressed appreciation to everyone who has helped move the improvements forward.
Additional progress is expected as work on the softball field continues.
