NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. – New Martinsville will transform into a holiday wonderland with its annual Christmas in the ‘Ville event on Saturday, Nov. 30.
Organizers say Christmas in the ‘Ville is a unique event that transforms downtown New Martinsville into a true Christmas experience.
Christmas in the ‘Ville is an annual event put on by the Wetzel-Tyler Chamber of Commerce for children and families in the Wetzel-Tyler Counties area. It is held the first Saturday after Thanksgiving in downtown New Martinsville.
The event is free. There is ample parking downtown and everything is within walking distance.
Many businesses and organizations in the area host either an activity or treat at their business or some location on or near Main Street. There will be signs, maps, or QR codes posted to direct families to the location of various activities.
All of the activities and treats are sponsored by the host business or another local business or organization and are free.
There will be a train ride and horse buggy rides. Hot chocolate stations will be available to warm visitors up and set the holiday mood.
There is a vendor and craft show with many items adults can purchase.
Christmas in the ‘Ville also features a book signing by three local authors including Brian Croasmun. You can learn about Croasmun on his website.
Children’s events are scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. but organizers say some activities may start sooner and end later. The day will finish with the Christmas parade down Main Street at 5:30 p.m.
