Four Bellaire residents arrested after detectives seize thousands of dollars of suspected drug money

BELLAIRE, Ohio – Belmont County Sheriff James Zusack says that multiple people were arrested Monday on drug and other charges in Bellaire following an ongoing investigation.

On Feb. 10, the department’s Criminal Interdiction Unit served warrants at two residences on Monroe Street in Bellaire. The first warrant was executed at 3416 Monroe Street and the second warrant was executed at 3408 Monroe Street.

Detectives say the 3408 Monroe Street location has been the subject of past investigations and that other search warrants were previously served there. Multiple persons associated with this residence are currently serving prison sentences for drugs and other unrelated charges, detectives say.

Four people were arrested following Monday’s search warrants:

  • Tanner Weekley, 25, of Bellaire, was arrested arrested for possession of criminal tools, Felony 1 trafficking in fentanyl, Felony 1 possession of fentanyl, Felony 1 possession of crack cocaine, and Felony 1 trafficking of crack cocaine

A juvenile was present at the time of the arrest and the sheriff’s office is seeking charges of child endangerment from the Belmont County Prosecutor’s Office.

  • Richard Lee Lynn, 36, of Bellaire, was arrested for trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of criminal tools

  • Richard Dale Lynn, 54, of Bellaire, was arrested for trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of criminal tools

  • Waneta Leasure, 51, of Bellaire, was arrested for obstructing official business

Detectives seized more than $4,000 in suspected drug money, 61 grams of suspected fentanyl, 13 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 40.19 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Zusack says this is an ongoing investigation and that detectives are seeking warrants on drug charges for other individuals not present at these residences on Monday when the search warrants were executed.
