BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio – At their regular Wednesday meeting, the Belmont County Board of Commissioners entered into an agreement with Dr. Christopher Gooch, M.D., who will provide Medical Director services at the Belmont County Jail.
Gooch will receive $30,000 per year for the period of Feb. 20, 2025 through Feb. 19, 2026. Gooch’s contract will auto-renew for one additional year unless either party provides a 60-day notice.
Commissioners also approved a contract with Worldwide Industries Corp. of Butler, Pennsylvania for $547,565 for the Belmont County Water and Sewer District McKeever tank repainting project based upon the recommendation of project engineer Jeff Vaughn. The McKeever water storage tank is located outside the Village of Belmont.
The commissioners also entered into a subsurface use agreement with Ascent Resources – Utica, LLC for $20,000 for Pultney Township roadways including Bel-Haven, Fulton Hill and Poplar Drive in Bel-Haven Second Addition. The agreement is effective Feb. 19, 2025 and runs for a five-year term. The agreement will extend past the initial term if Ascent Resources is producing oil, gas and/or associated hydrocarbons from the Robinson SW Well.
Commissioners also authorized the Belmont County Auditor to establish a new fund for the Ohio EMA Disaster Fund concerning flooding in April 2024.
They also announced a meeting schedule change. The Belmont County Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 9 a.m. due to a
scheduling conflict.
