STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — The city of Steubenville has officially hired David Herron as its new building inspector.
Herron, who comes to Steubenville with 25 years of experience and the necessary interim approval from the State of Ohio, is set to begin his duties on Wednesday with a backlog of permit requests already awaiting his review.
Among the most urgent projects awaiting approval are permit requests from major developments including Chipotle and Starbucks.
As Herron transitions into his new role from Florida, both city officials and local businesses are hopeful that his extensive background and proven expertise will restore momentum to Steubenville’s building permit process and help revitalize the area.
