Fire crews respond to Moundsville’s Strand Theatre

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. – Fire crews responded to a call about smoke at The Strand Theatre in Moundsville just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday night.

However, the smoke was not due to fire. It originated from a fog machine used in the show inside the theatre and tripped the smoke alarm, Moundsville Volunteer Assistant Fire Chief Pancho Flores told River News Network, which was at the scene.

“Basically, we were having a show inside and they had a fog machine, and the fog machine set off the fire alarm. So what we’re doing right now is just helping them clear out the smoke from the fog machine. There was no fire, and nobody was hurt.”

Dozens of theatre goers lined the sidewalk outside the theatre while the fire department cleared the fog from the building and checked if everyone was okay. No one was injured.
