Wheeling motorists facing more traffic issues as new roadworks projects begin

WHEELING, W.Va. – More traffic tie-ups will come to Wheeling as a series of bridge replacement projects crank up in later this year and into 2027.

City Manager Bob Herron says the Washington Avenue Bridge linking National Road and Washington Avenue will close in August or September.

In Elm Grove, transportation engineers have pushed out the start date to replace the Schilling Bridge into 2027.
