Ohio County officials provide update on help for most recent flooding

OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. – Wheeling officials provided this update Friday morning on flood assistance efforts following Thursday evening’s flooding in the city and surrounding areas:

“For those affected by last night’s flooding in Wheeling, Bethlehem, and the surrounding county, flood clean-up supplies are available for pickup at Wheeling University’s McDonough Center or Wheeling Fire Station 11 in Elm Grove.

If anyone needs assistance cleaning basements or flooded impacted areas, call 211.

Wheeling residents who need basements pumped can call 304-234-3711.

Questions for Emergency Management can be directed to 304-234-3756.

City crews in Wheeling are working to clean up debris and mud from roadways from various areas.

Any debris from homes should be left curbside for operations workers to collect.

Any roads in the city closed from last nights heavy rainfall have since reopened.”
